Chaz Brenchley has been making a living as a writer since the age of eighteen. He is the author of thrillers, fantasies, ghost stories, science fiction and more. Born and raised in Oxford, he spent his adulthood in Newcastle on Tyne, and is now experiencing his age in Silicon Valley, California.
There is a deep love of story in Chaz’s work: old forms repurposed, familiar genres made strange again, and characters navigating worlds where danger, wit, longing and unease often sit side by side. Whether writing fantasy, horror, crime, science fiction or something more hybrid, he brings atmosphere, intelligence and darkly playful invention to the page.
Chaz’s work with NewCon Press ranges from the Mars Imperial novella "Rowany de Vere and a Fair Degree of Frost" to anthology appearances in titles including Anniversaries, The Bitten Word and X Marks the Spot. Together, they reflect the breadth and versatility that have defined his career: sharp, strange, characterful fiction alive with intrigue, atmosphere and speculative invention.
Chaz’s fiction is a reminder of how flexible genre can be in the hands of a writer who understands its histories, enjoys its possibilities, and knows exactly when to play by the rules — and when to bend them into something stranger.
