Cat Hellisen is a writer of dark fantasy for adults and children. Her work has appeared in Tor.com, The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction, and has won the Short Story Day Africa Prize. Her novels include the YA fantasy When the Sea is Rising Red and Beastkeeper, which she calls a fairy tale for the loveless.
