Jaine Fenn grew up rural England, assuming she was the only girl in the world who read SF. She discovered otherwise at college, where she studied Linguistics and Astronomy before accidentally embarking on a career in IT. She has had a number of short stories published in magazines and anthologies, mainly SF but also some fantasy and alt. history. In 2008 Gollancz published the first book in her far future SF Hidden Empire series, Principles of Angels, with four more novels and a short story collection following on.
