Sarah Singleton

Sarah Singleton is an award-winning author whose fiction moves between Gothic atmosphere, historical resonance and speculative unease. Born in Wiltshire — a county defined by stone circles and white horses — her work is deeply attuned to landscape, folklore and the quiet pressure of place.

Her debut novel 'The Crow Maiden' was shortlisted for the IAFA Crawford Award. She went on to publish eight young adult novels with Simon & Schuster UK, beginning with 'Century', which won the Booktrust Teen Award in 2004 and the Dracula Society’s ‘Children of the Night’ Award for Best Gothic Novel.

Alongside her novels, Sarah’s short fiction has appeared in Interzone, Black Static, Terror Tales, and numerous anthologies and Year’s Best collections. She has also featured in a number of NewCon Press publications, including our very, 'Time Pieces' (2006) as well as 'The Bitten Word', 'Barcelona Tales', and 'Shadows on the Hillside.

We are proud to be publishing her latest novel, 'Crabbe Hall' — a historical fantasy set in 1799 Wiltshire, described as a dark folk, rural faery tale. A novel steeped in atmosphere: beautifully crafted and quietly powerful.
